Come 5th August 2023, all Tamilians and other Tamil speaking people across the world would feel proud and happy.

The reason for that would be due to the installation of the 10 feet long Thiruvalluvar Statue at the World Tamil Sangam at Durban, South Africa on that day.

This Tiruvalluvar statue was sculpted at Mahabalipuram near Chennai and it was sent to South Africa in a ship. There are many Tamilians living in Clear hood near Durban and here only the Tamil Sangam Building is present. It is learnt that the migrated Tamilians are having plans to inaugurate the 10 feet long Tiruvalluvar statue in the premises.

This statue was sculpted by Mr. Murugana and his team at Mahabalipuram. Yesterday, Mr. VG. Santhosham, World Tamil Sangam chairman in the presence of Mr. GA. Stish Mahabalipuram Tamil Sangam chairman felicitated the sculptors. The Tiruvalluvar statue was sent off in a  ceremonial gesture on a ship.

Mr. VG. Santhosham later spoke about how the statue would be the 155th Thiruvalluvar Statue sponsored by the World Tamil Sangam. He concluded that it was heartwarming to witness the growth of Tamil and Tamil diaspora all over the world. Vaazhga Tamizh Valarga Tamizh!!
