Good news for citizens! No increase in Electricity charges in Tamil Nadu!

To encounter the severe financial crisis, the Department of Electricity (TANGEDCO) applied last year for permission to increase the electricity charges. As such, the National Electricity Regulatory Authority permitted to increase the Electricity Charges.
Subsequently, the electricity for domestic and industrial consumption increased last September. The public was thus put to great hardship finding it difficult to pay the increased electricity charges.
It is presently learnt that the Department of Electricity is planning to increase the charges again! The news was gathered that as per the permission given by the National Electricity Regulatory Authority, the Department of Electricity is planning to increase the rates again the next month.
On this, the Public emphasized that this proposal of another increase in Electricity charges will affect the public quite severely and so, the Department of Electricity must give up the proposal to raise the charges again!
Even as the leaders of various political parties were also emphasizing the rates MUST not be increased again, the Department of Electricity has come up with the explanation that THERE WOULD BE NO CHANGES IN THE CHARGES FOR JULY!
