It is noteworthy that the public toilets present in the Rajaji Nagar in Thiruvottiyur have now turned into a place for many anti-social activities. The residents want the government to demolish them totally or to re-construct them.
Some 2 decades back, a row of three toilets were built here and the ressidents now want Chennai Corporation or ward councillor to take action as soon as possible.
As per a local resident it was clear that the public toilets built near Bereka Church at Rajaji Nagar were run down a few years back itself. He mentioned that in the evenings many anti-social elements make their presence felt here creating nuisance to the public.
Another resident spoke about how it was very difficult to pass through the toilet area as many men gathered around and drank liquor. She wanted the government to demolish the toilets fully or rebuild them for the public.
