Shocking revelation regarding the trains running between Tambaram and Chengapet!!

Every day, many passengers use the train route between Chengalpet and Tambaram to reach their destinations. This route is considered one of the busiest routes for local trains in Chennai.
It has been revealed now that despite the high patronage the frequency of the trains between Tambaram and Chengalpet has not been increased till now. This has made many passengers unhappy. It must be taken into account that in the peak hours these trains are usually overcrowded. The shocking piece of information is that many male passengers travel footboard only in these trains.
Many passengers hoped that the frequency of the trains would increase when the railways completed the work of the third line between Tambaram and Chengapet. The bitter truth is that the frequency of trains has not been increased and the third lane has been unused. As many as 70 trains run between Tambaram and Chengalpattu during the weekdays and this is less when compared to the 150 trains that run between Chennai Beach and Tambaram. The suburban population has become more now and the passengers want the same number of trains to be operated between Tambaram and Chengalpet.
It was brought out by a regular user of trains that during Sundays and on govt holidays etc, the number of trains operated were less. He added that the timings of the trains were not followed properly. Point is that for more than a decade, the passengers and many resident`s welfare associations etc have been requesting the railways to operate more trains and increase the frequency of trains every 20 minutes. Promise was also made by the railway officials (after the completion of third lane work) to operate more trains and increase the frequency of the trains but nothing took place.
