Sudden delay issues in trains travelling to places like Kolkata, Ranchi, Bhubaneshwar etc from Chennai now, passengers suffer!!

For the last one week, there has been an issue regarding the north & east bound trains running late every day. This has been creating many issues for the passengers. People travelling to places like Bhubaneshwar, Ranchi, Kolkata and Lucknow etc are not happy. It must be noted that the trains that travel through multiple railway zones are not punctual in running. The travel itself has now become unreliable.
In the last 4 to 5 days, the railways have rescheduled the trains from Chenna to Howrah and every day the trains leave the MGR Chennai Central railway station 3to 4 hours late.
It was then brought out by an officer from the railways that the arrival of pairing trains gets delayed. He explained how the rake must be cleaned and readied for the upward journey from Chennai leading to further delays. Truth is that the incoming train is delayed from 4to 11 hours now.
Point is that on Monday, Chennai to Howrah mail was supposed to leave at 7:30 pm but it was rescheduled to 4am on Tuesday. Many passengers face issues as they would have to be present at the railway station earlier itself. It would be difficult to reach the station from several parts of Chennai in the middle of the night.
The shocking truth is that the train delays have affected those who come to Chennai for treatment. The railways dept does not take responsibility to essure punctuality of the trains as the trains traverse through many railway zones.
There are also no passengers associations to highlight the train delay issue and there is no pressure on the railways department now. It is now mentioned that the ordeal is more for those whose destinations are enroute stations.
