The amount for educational assistance that is being provided for the differently abled students in TN has been doubled now. This was announced by the TN government.
It was mentioned in a press release from the TN government that the TN govt has been implementing various schemes for the welfare of those differently able persons under the Dept of Welfare of Persons with Disabilities. It added that from the FY 2013-14 to improve the education, students studying from class 1 to higher education were provided with financial assistance amounting from Rs 1000 to Rs 7000 depending on their classes.
It must be recalled that during the grant request of the dept of welfare of the differently able persons for the financial year 2023-24 the CM of TN has announced that the financial assistance would be doubled for those differently abled boys and girls students.
To implement the announcement made earlier, an GO or govt order has been passed now to increase the financial assistance from Rs 1000 to Rs 2000 for the students studying in the classes from 1 to 5, increase in the financial assistance from Rs 3000 to Rs 6000 for the students studying in the classes from 6 to 8, and increase from Rs 4000 to Rs 6000 for the students studying in the classes 9 to 12.
A GO has also been passed now to increase the financial assistance from Rs 6000 to Rs 12000 for the students studying undergraduate courses and from Rs 7000 to Rs 14000 for the students studying post graduate courses.
