As larger quantities of tomatoes have arrived in Chennai Metro City, the price of tomatoes has come down!
As the yield of tomatoes was less over the last 2 months, the price of tomatoes shot up steeply throughout India. Tomatoes were being sold at as high as Rs. 160/- per kg.
As the quantity of tomatoes arriving at Chennai Metro City has increased, the price of tomatoes has started reducing. At the wholesale vegetable, fruits and flowers supermarket at Koyambedu, the tomato was sold at Rs. 70-85 per kg at Koyambedu.
The retail traders added another Rs. 10/- per kg for tomatoes and sold them. The traders informed us that the price of tomatoes will come down considerably in August!
