The ideal time for undertaking Girivalam tomorrow (1st August) - in Thiruvannamalai

The administration of the Lord Sri Arunachaleswarar temple in Thiruvannamalai has announced the ideal time to undertake Girivalam (Taking a round walk along the bottom of the mountain) on the occasion of the Full Moon Day (Pournami) in the Tamil calendar month of Aadi.

Undertaking Girivalam at the Thiruvannamalai temple is hugely popular. The distance covered is 14 km and the devotees undertake Girivalam and then have Darshan of the Lord Sri Arunachaleswarar and His Consort Unnamulaiamman.

Accordingly, the Full Moon Day (Pournami) in the Tamil Calendar month of Aadi commences tomorrow (Tuesday, 1st August) at 3.25 AM and concludes at early morning 1.05 AM on Wednesday, 2nd August.

As such, the administration of the Lord Arunachaleswarar temple has announced that the ideal time for undertaking Girivalam is during the above-mentioned period between 3.25 AM on Tuesday and 1.05 AM on Wednesday.
