The news that has emerged out is that an agreement was made in the presence of CM of Tamil Nadu Mr. MK. Stalin for establishing mobile phone parts manufacturing center worth Rs 1600 crores in Kancheepuram near Chennai.
At the Chennai secretariat yesterday, Foxconn chairman Mr. Young Liu met the TN chief minister and discussed the new investments that would be made by Foxconn in TN. There were discussions regarding setting up of a new center in Kancheepuram for the manufacture of mobile phone components. An agreement was also signed between TN Guide Company and Foxconn.
In his Twitter page, the CM of TN has mentioned that he was happy regarding meeting Foxconn chairman Mr. Young Liu and his team. Discussions were made about the possibilities of starting various businesses in the state. He then revealed that a MoU was signed in the presence of him about setting up of a manufacturing center for the production of the mobile phone components in Kancheepuram at a cost of Rs 1600. This would provide job opportunities for 6000 people. The CM then tweeted about the discussions about the investments in electronic components and electrical vehicles sectors.
