In a recent announcement by Southern Railway, significant changes have been introduced for the convenience of passengers on two prominent train services.
1. Tejas Express with Stoppage at Tambaram Terminal
The Tejas Express, operating between Chennai Egmore and Madurai, will now include a stoppage at Tambaram Terminal on an experimental basis. The changes will be effective starting from 23rd August. Train no. 22671, departing from Chennai Egmore at 6:00 am, will halt for two minutes at Tambaram from 6:25 am before continuing its journey to Madurai. The train is scheduled to reach Madurai at 12:15 pm. Similarly, Train no. 22672, departing from Madurai at 3:00 pm, will also have a two-minute stoppage at Tambaram from 8:38 pm before reaching Chennai Egmore at 9:15 pm.
2. Additional Stoppage for Thiruvananthapuram Central - Velankanni Weekly Specials
Southern Railway has also introduced an additional stoppage for the Thiruvananthapuram Central - Velankanni - Thiruvananthapuram Central weekly specials. The special train services will now include a stoppage at Eraniel Station. These changes will be applicable on 23rd, 30th August, and 06th September when departing from Thiruvananthapuram Central and on 24th, 31st August, and 07th September when departing from Velankanni.
