The prices of flowers, including jasmine (malligai), mullai, and Pichippoo, have shot up in Madurai, Dindigul, Thovalai, and Tuticorin (Thoothukkudi). For instance, the price of jasmine in the Maattuthavani wholesale flower market in Madurai is Rs. 800/- per kg.
Mullai flowers are sold at Rs. 760/- per kg, Pichippoo at Rs. 700/- per kg, Kanakambaram at Rs. 500/- per kg, Chendu at Rs. 100/- per kg, rose at Rs. 250/- per kg, Sevvanthi at Rs. 280/- per kg, Aralippoo at Rs. 200/- per kg, Markkozhundhu at Rs. 100/- per kg, Vadamalli at Rs. 100/- per kg, and Kozhikkondai at Rs. 120/- per kg.
Furthermore, jasmine was sold at Rs. 700/- per kg at the Andippatti wholesale market.
