Indias power consumption in July is up to 13900 Crores Units!

India`s power consumption in July in the year 2022 was 12,825 Crores units. As compared to this, India`s power consumption in July this year (2023) has gone up by 8.4% and is 13,900 Crores units!
In the year 2012, July, before the coronavirus pandemic, India`s power consumption was 12,372 Crores units.
Last July (2023), the maximum daily consumption increased up to 208.82 Gigawatts. In July 2022, this was 190.35 Gigawatts. In the year 2021, before the coronavirus pandemic, the consumption was 200.53 Gigawatts.
The central Ministry for Electricity estimated that the requirement during the summer season would be 2.29 Gigawatts. However, due to the unexpected rainfall in the country in April and May, the consumption was somewhat lower.
There was widespread rain throughout the country from March to June, leading to a reduction in the number of home air-conditioners and consequently, reducing power consumption.
Still, the power consumption in June was quite substantial, and the statistics show that power consumption increased significantly in July!
