The regular commuters at Tambaram face issues due to the presence of many potholes.
There are many motosists and residents who have been using the road for many years and they are aware of the inconvenience. Before the onset of NE monsoon, the public have asked the corporation to re-lay the road here.
Till now, many complaints have been raised regarding the presence of many potholes on the road and need to relay the road but no action has been taken. Travelling on the road filled with many potholes has not been easy for the motorists. Truth is that people fall down during the monsoon season and the rain water stagnation here leads to traffic congestion.
It was mentioned by a vegetable vendor here that in another 2 months NE monsoon would start and the civic body hasn`t yet started the pre-monsoon works to prevent water stagnation.
It is learnt that when the Corporation relays the road it would last for a month only as many heavy vehicles pass through the road with loads of perishable commodities for the market. This would in turn lead to more damage to the road. The Tambaram Commissioner spoke about how the service road comes under the Highways dept and how the concerned persons have been notified already.
