No more long waiting at railway gate - ROB work at Chengalpet that started now!!

Crossing the railway gate in Karunguzhi in Chengalpet in the future would not be time consuming and irritating!!
Recently, the work to construct ROB or rail over bridge was started at the level crossing 64 at the Karunguzhi in Chengalpet at a cost of Rs 29.5 crores. It is mentioned that this ROB would be of huge help for local residents and farmers moving paddy to the rice mills. By March 2025, this 847m 2 laned ROB would be completed here and till now good progress has been made on wall foundation etc.
It was explained by a Karunguzhi resident that the railway portion of the bridge over the level crossing was completed. He added that the work could not proceed due to some issues in the land acquisition. He concluded that the government has sorted out the issue after taking some time. On the Kinar Keezhvanam Road, the level crossing is located between the railway stations of Padalam and Karungkuzhi. Truth is that it connects Maduranthakam on one side and Thirukazhukundram and Mahabs on the other side.
A resident spoke about how the railway gate was open in the afternoons as not many trains pass through the level crossing here. He added that in the mornings and evenings, the gate would be kept closed as many school going kids and office goers use the stretch. Truth is that the long wait for the railway gate to open would be very irritating. He was hoping that the Highways dept would complete the ROB work soon and it would help many .
