In a notification released by the Secretary of the Department of Commercial Taxes and Registration of the State Government of Tamil Nadu, the following points are mentioned:
"Due to an anticipated increase in Property Sale Deed Registrations on auspicious days (considered ideal for weddings – Subha Muhurtha Dhinam), the citizens` appeal to allocate a larger number of tokens on these days has been acknowledged and accepted. This practice is in accordance with tradition.
On the auspicious occasion of `Aadipperukku` on August 3rd, in response to the public`s request, an additional 50 tokens were allocated at each Registrar`s Office.
On the aforementioned day (August 3rd), a total of 14,449 Property Sale Deeds were registered across the State, resulting in a revenue of Rs. 100 Crores earned by the State Government of Tamil Nadu.
Furthermore, it is expected that the first auspicious day (Subha Muhurtha Dhinam) of the Tamil calendar month of Aavani, which falls on August 21st, will witness a higher volume of property sales deeds being registered. In light of this anticipation and based on public appeal, it has been decided to increase the token allotment for property registration on August 21st. In offices with a single registrar, 150 tokens will be issued instead of the usual 100, and in Registrar Offices with two Registrars, 300 tokens will be allocated as opposed to the standard 200. Additionally, in Registrar Offices with a high number of anticipated registrations, the token count will be raised to 150 from the customary 100. Furthermore, an extra 4 Tatkal registration tokens will be issued in addition to the 12 Tatkal registration reservation tokens.
Orders pertaining to this supplementary token allocation have already been dispatched to the Department of Registration."
