In anticipation of the annual Velankanni Mata Church festival, the State Transport Corporation has unveiled plans for special bus operations, ensuring convenient travel for pilgrims. The Velankanni Holy Arogya Mata Annual Festival for 2023 is scheduled to take place from August 28th to September 9th.
Special bus services will be available from various cities including Chennai, Dindigul, Madurai, Trichy, Manaparai, Thanjavur, Kumbakonam, Poondi Mathakovil, Oriyur, Chidambaram, Puducherry, Mayiladuthurai, Pattukottai, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Nagor, and Karaikal, facilitating pilgrims` journeys to Velankanni.
The Tamil Nadu Government Transport Corporation (LTD), Kumbakonam, will operate special buses for the return journey from Velankanni to the mentioned towns, ensuring a seamless pilgrimage experience.
To further enhance passenger convenience, day and night service centers have been set up at bus stations in all the towns mentioned above, as well as at the Velankanni bus station. Dedicated personnel have been appointed to assist travelers at these service centers.
It is recommended that the public utilize this special bus service to participate in the religious ceremonies. The festival`s auspicious flag hoisting at the renowned St. Arogya Anai Temple in Velankanni is scheduled to commence on the 29th. Arogya Mata`s Therpavani will be held on September 7th at 7:30 pm. An estimated 5 to 10 lakh devotees are expected to visit Velankanni Matha Church during the annual festival.
