Southern Railway has announced the cancellation and diversion of train services between Chennai Central and Tirupati due to tunneling work scheduled to take place between Jolarpet and Somanayakanpatti stations. This disruption will affect passengers traveling on the Chennai Central - Tirupati Express and the Kaveri Express.
Here are the details of the changes as per the press release issued by Southern Railway:
1. Chennai Central - Tirupati Express (Train No: 16203):
- Cancellation Dates: September 12, 13, 14, 15, 21, 22, 24, and 25.
- The train will be diverted to run as Tirupati - Chennai Central Express on September 12, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 23, and 25.
2. Tirupati - Chennai Central Express (Train No: 16204):
- Cancellation Dates: September 12, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 23, and 25.
3. Kaveri Express (Train No: 16021):
- The train will depart from Chennai Central to Mysore on September 12, 13, 14, 20, 21, 23, and 24.
- It will be rerouted as Mysore - Chennai Central Express on September 13, 14, 15, 21, 22, 24, and 25.
Additionally, 14 other express trains, including those originating from Kerala, will be canceled.
Train Delay:
The Bengaluru Express (Train No: 12658) departing from Chennai Central on September 12 will depart at 12:20 AM instead of its usual schedule of 10:50 PM, resulting in a delay of one hour and 30 minutes.
