Non-functioning automatic ticket vending machines in several Railway Stations! Passengers put to hardship!

Automatic ticket vending machines have been installed in important railway stations since last November. There has been gradual progress on this front.
Regarding Southern Railways, more than 120 automatic ticket vending machines have been installed in several important railway stations, including Chennai Central, Egmore, Guindy, Tambaram, Avadi, Perambur, and Ambattur.
However, in some of these railway stations, these automatic ticket vending machines are not functioning and remain as dummy display items. Because of this, passengers are constrained to stand in long queues to procure tickets.
Automatic ticket vending machines are not functioning in some railway stations, including Tambaram and Mambalam.
When inquiring about this with the concerned railway divisional officials, they shared:
"The project of installing the automatic ticket vending machines in all major railway stations is progressing gradually.
As maintenance personnel are yet to be appointed in some of the railway stations, the equipment has been installed and is yet to start functioning. As such, all-out efforts are being initiated to ensure all these automatic ticket vending machines function properly!"
