128 citizens infected with dengue fever in Tamil Nadu over the last week! Health Department orders dengue treatment camps to be set up!!

The officials of the Department of Health of the State Government of Tamil Nadu have informed that 128 citizens have been infected with dengue fever in the State of Tamil Nadu over the last 1 week!

The Director of the Department of Health of the State Government of Tamil Nadu has ordered that special dengue fever treatment camps MUST be set up immediately where the intensity of the spread of dengue is higher.

Due to the persistent rain in the last few weeks in Tamil Nadu, the number of citizens affected by dengue fever and getting admitted to hospitals has increased. Especially, the mosquito type `Aedes aegypti` breeding has been quite intense.

Just to confirm this heavy breeding of mosquitoes, 4074 citizens have been affected with dengue fever so far this year. As such, the Tamil Nadu State Government Health Department has intensified the preventive measure activities.

The Director of the Public Health Department Selvavinayakam shared:

"As the intensity of dengue fever has increased in recent times, orders have been issued to intensify the mosquitoes removal activities. Further, the private hospitals. The Government Hospitals and the District Directorate of Public Health have all been directed to furnish the full details of the extent of dengue spread.

In case the intensity of dengue fever is high in some specific areas, the details MUST be informed to the District Assistant Director of the concerned areas and to organize special dengue fever treatment camps.

Further, they have been informed to monitor the breeding of mosquitoes which spread the disease. Awareness programmes and activities in this regard have been taken up individually in all schools, parks, colleges, and other public places!"
