People belonging to Chennai and TN would not have forgotten the music genius mandolin Srinivas. He passed away on 19th of September in 2014 is known. Yesterday, on his death anniversary the Kumaran Colony Main Road in Vadapalani was named after him and a plaque was unveiled. The family members of mandolin Srinivas met the CM of TN Mr. MK. Stalin and conveyed their wishes.
Mandolin Srinivas became a huge sensation in the 90s and 2000s when he played Carnatic music on the western instrument mandolin. As a result, He had many fans across the world. It must be noted that though he was born in AP he lived in Kumaran Colony in Vadapalani from the age of 6.
In this scenario, the family members of mandolin Srinivas and Kumaran Colony Residents Welfare Association in Vadapalani have requested the CM to name the road after mandolin Srinivas as he lived there for many years. On his memorial day yesterday, the Kumaran Colony Main Road was named after mandolin Srinivas. The Chennai Mayor R. Priya made her presence felt here and she inaugurated the name board. The event also witnessed the presence of mandolin Srinivas father, mother, brother and his wife etc
