In an eagerly awaited development, Prime Minister Modi is set to inaugurate the Vande Bharat train service connecting Chennai Egmore to Tirunelveli. This much-anticipated event is scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, and will take place between 11 am and 11:30 am, with the Prime Minister participating via a video presentation. The inaugural ceremony will be held at the Tirunelveli Junction Railway Station.

Starting from the 25th of this month, the Vande Bharat train will commence operations from Chennai to Tirunelveli, with the return journey from Tirunelveli to Chennai commencing on the 27th. Booking for this new train service has already commenced, with ticket prices now available on the IRCTC website.

For the Chennai Egmore to Tirunelveli route, the standard AC seat car fare has been fixed at Rs 1,155. This comprehensive fare includes a base fare of Rs 40, an express fare of Rs 45, a food fare of Rs 308, and a GST charge of Rs 62, amounting to a total of Rs 1,610.

Additionally, for travelers opting for the first-class AC seat car, the fare is set at Rs 2,375, which encompasses a base fare of Rs 60, an express fare of Rs 75, a food fare of Rs 369, and a GST charge of Rs 126, resulting in a total fare of Rs 3,005.

Conversely, the normal AC seat car fare for the Tirunelveli to Chennai Egmore route includes a base fare of Rs 1,154, a reservation fee of Rs 40, an express fare of Rs 45, a food fare of Rs 364, and a GST charge of Rs 62, summing up to a total of Rs 1,665. Meanwhile, the first-class AC seat car fare stands at Rs 2,375, inclusive of a base fare of Rs 60, an express fare of Rs 75, a food fare of Rs 419, and a GST charge of Rs 126, bringing the total fare to Rs 3,055.

With the commencement of bookings, tickets are being swiftly reserved by eager travelers. This new Vande Bharat train service promises to be a convenient and efficient mode of transportation between Chennai Egmore and Tirunelveli, enhancing connectivity in the region.
