In Chennai the flower prices are shooting up like anything due to the Vinayakar Chaturthi festival. Flowers from various places are coming to koyambedu market.  Heaps of Roses and Samanthi from Hosur,  Malli from Periyapalayam, and Jathi and Mullai from Vellore have reached Koyambedu market, but still the prices have increased as there is more need.

Two days back  300 grams of  Malli flower were Rs.80, then it was Rs.250 and then come down to Rs.160.  Since people are interested and willing to decorate the Lord Ganesha on his birthday, the flower prices are skyrocketing.
