Amazing!! Presidency College in Chennai becomes the first ever govt college to receive ISO 21001 certification!!

The Chennai based Presidency College has now added a new feather to its cap by receiving ISO 21001 certification from the BIS or Bureau of Indian Standards. It is sensational to note that this Chennai college is the first ever government college across TN to achieve this.
According to the Presidency College principal Mr. R. Raman, the ISO 21001 certification was issued to the college based on the transparency in the admission process, syllabus, student teacher ratio, evaluation of answer sheets etc. he explained that the ISO certification would provide reliability to the data being submitted for NIRF ranking and NAAC accreditation. Audit to verify the claims and documents of the college was carried out by BIS.
It is learnt that SRMIST, Sri Sairam Engineering College and Sri Sairam Institute of Technology etc also received the same ISO certification.
The head of the Chennai branch office of BIS, G. Bhavani highlighted that in the southern region ISO 21001 certification was issued to 4 colleges for the very first time. She added that before issuing ISO certification BIS would consider all aspects like hostels, lab facilities, feedback from students & parents etc. Support provided by the college to the differently able persons would also be considered for ISO certification..
