The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has issued a notification regarding the weather conditions in Tamil Nadu. It states:
"A cyclonic formation is currently prevailing in the lower layers of the atmosphere over the Sri Lankan and adjacent Kanyakumari Ocean areas. Due to this, there is a possibility of mild to moderate rainfall accompanied by lightning and thunder on the 31st of October and the 1st of November in various places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. Furthermore, there is a likelihood of widespread mild to moderate rainfall with lightning and thunder on the 2nd and 3rd of November.
There is a chance of heavy rainfall occurring in 1 or 2 locations in the following districts: Thenkasi, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sivagangai, Theni, Dindigul, Pudhukkottai, Thoothukkudi, and Thirunelveli Districts.
Additionally, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in 1 or 2 places in the Kanyakumari, Thirunelveli, Thoothukkudi, Ramanathapuram, and Thenkasi Districts on the 3rd of November."
