Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, is set to restart its flights from Singapore to Chennai on November 5. The daily service will utilize a 180-seat all-economy class Airbus A320CEO. Flight TR578 will arrive in Chennai at 11.50 p.m. and depart at 12.35 a.m. as TR579, heading back to Singapore Changi at 07.20 a.m. (local time).
Scoot views India as a significant focus market, targeting business travelers, the `visiting friends and relatives` segment, and first-time Indian outbound travelers. Their collaboration with Singapore Airlines provides more destination options for travelers. Additionally, Scoot is enhancing its onboard baggage allowance and plans to introduce Embraer E190-E2 aircraft in early 2024 alongside its existing fleet of Airbus A320s, A321s, and Boeing 787s.
Chennai becomes Scoot`s third destination in Tamil Nadu, following Coimbatore and Tiruchi, and its sixth in India. The airline will operate alongside Singapore Airlines in Tamil Nadu`s capital city.
