Travel for Deepavali Festival: 85000 citizens book for their trips to their Native Places to celebrate!

Over 82,000 citizen passengers have made reservations for their travel on the festive occasion of Deepavali on the Tamil Nadu State Transport Express Bus Services.

Officials of the Tamil Nadu State Express Transport Service Corporation have shared the following information:

"The festival of Deepavali for the year 2023 falls on the 12th of November, which is a Sunday. To cater to this special occasion, special buses will be operated throughout the state of Tamil Nadu by the Tamil Nadu State Express Transport Corporation. Bookings for these express buses began last month. The current booking status is as follows:

  • 22,000 passengers have made reservations for travel on the 9th of November.
  • 43,000 passengers have booked their travel for the 10th of November.
  • 17,000 passengers have booked their travel for the 11th of November.
  • This totals to 82,000 passengers who have made reservations.

Furthermore, a maximum of 28,000 passengers have booked to travel from Chennai Metro City on the 10th of November. An additional 15,000 passengers have made reservations for travel from places other than Chennai Metro City to various destinations.

On the return journey, 5,000 passengers have booked travel from other locations to Chennai Metro City on the 12th of November. 26,000 passengers have made reservations for the return journey on the 13th of November, and 16,000 passengers have booked the return journey from different locations on the 14th of November.

Bookings can be made on the official website of the Tamil Nadu State Express Transport Corporation, www.tnstc.in, or through the tnstc app.

As the festival draws closer, preparations are underway to set up temporary reservation counters at the long-distance bus terminals."
