A superb piece of news for the Sabarimala devotees!!
For the convenience of the devotees for the Sabarimala mandala and vilakku puja, a special weekly train would operate from Chennai central to Kottyam.
It is noteworthy that the weekly special fare train (06027) would leave Chennai Central on 26th of November, 3rd Dec, 10th Dec, 17th Dec, 24th Dec and 31ST Dec (all Sundays) at 11:30pm and reach Kottyam at 1:10pm on the next day.
In the same way, a special fare train (06028) would leave Kottyam on 27th of Nov, 4tyh Dec, 11th Dec, 18th Dec, 25th Dec and 1st Jan 2024 on Mondays at 7pm and would reach Chennai Central station at 10:30 am the next day.
Travel route:
The special fare train would travel from Chennai central through Perambur, Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpet, Salem, Erode, Tirupur and Bothanur. The pre-bookings for this train have started now and this was mentioned by Southern Railway.
