Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has announced that special camps will be organized for corrections in the Voters` List in Chennai Metro City on the 25th & 26th of November.
A notification released by the Greater Chennai Corporation in this regard mentions:
"A Draft Voters` List of the 16 Legislative Assembly Constituencies covering Chennai District was released in the presence of the political parties` representatives on the 27th of October. The Draft voters` list has been made available for the public in the Greater Chennai Corporation`s zonal offices 4, 5, 6, 8. 9. 10 and 13 and all the polling booths.
The citizens whose names have not been included in the Voters` List, the citizens who will be completing 18 years of age in the next year, and citizens who have shifted their residences need to get the respective application forms for corrections in the Voters` List attaching the identification proofs including the Aadhar Card copies and submit the same at the office of the relevant Voter Registration Officer before the 9th of December.
Special camps are set to be organized on the 25th & the 26th of November at the polling Booth Centres. Citizens who need to carry out corrections can apply for corrections in this camp.
Further, the citizens can also carry out the corrections on the Voters` List ONLINE by visiting the official website.
The Commissioner of Indian Medicine and Homeopathy, Mythili K. Rajendran has been appointed to monitor the progress on the corrections on the Voters` List in Chennai District.
Subsequently, a review meeting on the Voters` List with corrections and including photos using a shorter procedure for the 16 Legislative Assembly Constituencies in Chennai District was conducted at the Ripon Buildings on Monday (yesterday, 20th November) presided by Commissioner Mythili Rajendran. Several government officials including the Greater Chennai Corporation Additional Commissioner R. Lalitha participated in this review meeting."
