Safety of the public is very important!!
In Chennai, there are many parks that are being maintained by the Chennai Corporation and the public come to these parks regularly for relaxation etc.
Now, the GCC or Greater Chennai Corporation has ordered the Chennai Corporation to close down all the parks in Chennai for ensuring safety for the residents during the heavy rains and cyclones etc. It must be noted that the parks would be closed until RMC or Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai withdraws the cyclone and heavy rainfall warning. It is learnt that the Chennai Corporation is yet to give a formal order regarding closing down of all the parks in Chennai.
It is worthy to mention that the district collectors have been taking note of the weather conditions prevailing now and announcing the closure of the schools belonging to the north Tamil Nadu in case of heavy downpour. The main objective behind closing of the schools is to make sure that the students do not face any safety issues or inconvenience etc while going to their schools. It is now said that based on the cyclonic formation and activities in Chennai, the corporation would decide about issuing an order.
