Many devotees go to the famous Sri Dhandayuthapani Swamy temple at Pazhani in TN. In this temple thaipusam would be celebrated in a grand manner is known. Now, the devotees now want special trains to Pazhani during thaipusam festival days.
The thaipusam festival here would begin on 19th January with a flag hoisting ceremony. Truth is that lakhs of devotees from all over the state of TN would visit this temple for the 10day festival.
It is noteworthy that many devotees come to Pazhani temple by walking and then take buses to go back to their native places. The lack of trains has made the devotees to depend more on the buses. It must be noted that not many runs run from Pazhani to other places in the state. Some trains that were running till Pazhani have been extended to Palakkad.
In this scenario, many others including devotees want special trains to run on the Pazhani route. Mr, Muruganandam, an executive of Pazhani based Rail users association expressed his thoughts.
He spoke about how express trains were running from Pazhani to Thiruchendur via Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Kovilpatti and Tirunelveli. He shed light about the running of express trains from Pazhani to Chennai Central via Dindigul and Salem. Point is that both these trains have been extended up to Pallakad now. For thaipusam thiruvizha, a large number of devotees visit Pazhani temple from places like Coimbatore, Trichy, Chennai, Madurai, Karaikudi etc. For the convenience of these devotees from various places in TN, special trains must operate daily during the festival days.
