After the impact of Cyclone Michuang, the current status of traffic in Chennai is as follows:

As of this morning at 7:45 AM, the information about the current traffic status has been released. Green Corridors, unrestricted traffic lanes, have been established from the airport to Anna Salai and East Coast Road to facilitate quick movement. Additionally, water has been stocked at a height of 1 foot in various places. People are advised to use Anna Salai and East Coast Road for emergency purposes.

Important traffic updates: Due to waterlogging from the Puzhal area, travel on the road from Manali to Vadaperumbakkam is not allowed. The road from Manali to Vadaperumbakkam is closed due to flooding caused by water opening from the Puzhal area.

The Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board, in collaboration with the Highways Department, is engaged in crucial tasks in key areas. They are actively working to address the waterlogging and related issues.

Key activities of the Chennai City Police & Highways Department Joint Team (DDRTs):

1. Temporary generators have been set up at the LPG station on Kundrathur Road, Parlelangadu, as the generator room of the station was flooded. The three operators of the station have been rescued so far. They are actively involved in the restoration and relief operations along with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams.

2. A family of three, located near MG Road, Avadi, trapped in their house due to rising rainwater, has been rescued.

3. In the BRN Garden area, which is under the jurisdiction of the R-5 Virugambakkam police station, 54 families have been rescued.

4. In the Kotturpuram police station area, three women and an infant were rescued.

5. In the E-1 Mylapore police station limit, 225 families were rescued from Ganesapuram, Slatterpuram, and Shanmugha streets.

6. In the Marakkanam police station limit, 8 people were rescued from a house in the vicinity of Marine Kalvay Theru and sent to the relief camp in Mayiladuthurai.

7. In the S-7 Madipakkam police station limit, 15 people were rescued.

8. Eight people, including two adults, two women, and four children, were rescued from the residence of the anna nagar police station limit and sent to the Nivarana Maikam in Sri Srinivasa Iyer Street.

9. In the J-4 Koturpuram police station limit, 22 passengers who traveled with the Makkal Pokkuvathu Katchi (MPK) party were rescued and sent to Pallavaram.

10. A tree fell in the Nanganallur area, obstructing traffic. A team from the Anna Nagar police station removed the fallen tree and cleared the road.
