It is known that in May general elections will take place. As a result, the school education minister Mr. Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi earlier announced that class10 board exams would be held from 3rd March to 8th April 2024. Likewise, class 11 board exams would be held from 4th to 24th March 2024. From 1st March to 22nd March, class 12 board examinations will be held is known. Information is that more than 23lakhs students would be appearing for these examinations.

The authorities concerned have begun their work as the board examinations would be starting early this time. This was mentioned by a senior officer belonging to the directorate of examinations or DGE. It is learnt that the printing of answer sheets have also started. He added that reforms have been brought in setting the question papers to promote thinking skills of the students.

In February, revision exams would be conducted in all the schools in TN according to the schedule. The portions would have to be covered before the revision exams and the headmasters would have to monitor this. It is learnt that the holidays announced due to heavy rains in the 4 districts would be compensated by conducting classes on Saturdays.

The senior official later spoke about how the science labs in the schools would be equipped with all the apparatus for practical examinations. Examination centres across TN would be identified by the authorities. Point is that the chief education officer belonging to each district would prepare a list regarding the exam centres and would send the list to the directorate. To monitor the preparedness of the board exams, a central team would be constituted. It is noteworthy that the directorate would ensure that the results of board exams are published as per the schedule.
