Delay in Chennai airport works burdens tax payers

A recent government audit report has stated that there is a huge loss to all tax payers due to the delay in Chennai airport works. There is a loss of about Rs 2000 crore. This value includes the loss due to delay in works and the associated ones.
The delay in commissioning the international airport has accounted for Rs 48 crore of the entire loss. And, the new terminal construction’s delay has contributed to Rs 37 crore loss.
