Normal Operations: MTC Buses Follow Regular Timetable, Says Managing Director

The strike initiated by certain trade unions, led by CITU and Anna Thozhirsanga Peravai, appears to have faced minimal impact, as MTC buses continued to operate smoothly on Tuesday morning. MTC Managing Director Alby John Varghese reassured the public through an official statement, stating that buses are adhering to their regular schedules across all depots. As of 6 am on Tuesday, a total of 2,098 MTC buses were reported to be in operation.
Varghese encouraged passengers to travel without any concerns, emphasizing that all drivers and conductors are actively working, with MTC officials closely monitoring the bus operations. At the CMBT terminus, buses were observed running as usual, accompanied by a heightened police presence to ensure the smooth functioning of transportation services.
