Swachch Survekshan 2023 - The Cleanest city in the entire Tamil Nadu - Guess??

The residents belonging to Trichy have now got a reason to rejoice!!
In the central government annual cleanliness survey Swachch Survekshan 23, Trichy has been adjudged as the cleanest city in the entire Tamil Nadu now. On Thursday, 11th January, the results were announced
Across entire India, Indore city bagged the title as the cleanest city for the record seventh consecutive time. Next came Surat and it was followed by Navi Mumbai at third.
The state of Maharashtra was named as the cleanest state across India. In the second rank was the state of Madhya Pradesh and third was the state of Chhattisgarh.
Amongst the 29 participating cities from TN, Trichy city came first and it secured 112th rank amongst 446 cities across the entire India. It must be recalled that in the previous survey Trichy got 262nd rank. Point is that no city from TN is now ranked within the top 100.
It is learnt that out of a total of 9500 marks Trichy secured 5794. In door-to-door collection, remediation of dumpsites, cleanliness of residential areas, cleanliness of market areas and cleanliness of water bodies etc. It must be noted that Trichy secured 95% in cleanliness of public toilets, 89% in source segregation and 76% in waste generation etc.
At the state level, the city of Thoothukudi was ranked second and Coimbatore city was ranked third. The city of Chennai was ranked fifth across TN.
