From 24th January night onwards, the south bound buses would start from the newly inaugurated bus terminal at Kilambakkam in south Chennai. This decision to shift the bus operation to Kilambakkam has not gone down well with the omni bus operators. The passengers are in a confused state of mind.

It must be taken into account that the proposed shifting of omni buses operation is coming ahead of holidays for thaipoosam and Republic Day on 25th of January and on 26th January respectively along with the weekend. The timing of the TN government`s sudden decision to shift the private bus operations coinciding with the festival holidays have made the private bus operators feel upset.

Many passengers who have booked their bus tickets for the upcoming continuous holidays are confused regarding where to board the buses to their native places. Till now, no message has been received from the bus operators about the boarding point change.

It must be taken into account that many passengers have booked their tickets in the omni buses based on their nearest boarding points within Chennai to reach their outstation destinations.

Mr. A. Anbalagan, president of All Omni Bus Owners Association spoke about how the boarding points vary within Chennai based on the origin of each private operator. He added that the passengers select a particular operator for the nearest boarding points. Truth is that some buses would begin from places like Redhills, Parrys, Mannady and various parts of Chennai.
