Greater Chennai Traffic Police have announced temporary traffic diversions at Anna Flyover, Nungambakkam, and Sterling Road, effective from Sunday and lasting for a week. These diversions are implemented in light of the ongoing construction activities by Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) for three metro stations - Anna Flyover Metro Station, Nungambakkam Metro Station, and Sterling Road Metro Station. The trial diversions aim to facilitate the construction process and minimize disruptions to regular traffic flow.

During this period, vehicles traveling from Chetpet towards Gemini Flyover will be redirected via College Road, Haddows Road, and Uthamar Gandhi Salai to reach Gemini Flyover. This diversion will operate as a one-way traffic arrangement, maintaining the usual flow.

Similarly, vehicles coming from Gemini Flyover will follow a one-way diversion through Uthamar Gandhi Road and Kodambakkam High Road (Dr. MGR Road) towards Valluvar Kottam to reach their destinations.

For vehicles heading towards Aminjikarai, a diversion will be in place at Tank Bund Road (left turn), guiding them through Nelson Manickam Road to reach Aminjikarai and other designated destinations.

All vehicles from Valluvar Kottam bound for Gemini Flyover will undergo diversion at Valluvar Kottam junction. They will follow routes via Valluvar Kottam High Road and Uthamar Gandhi Salai to reach Anna Flyover (Gemini Bridge). Alternatively, a right turn towards Thirumalai Pillai Road and GN Chetty Road will lead them to Anna Flyover (Gemini Bridge) to reach their intended destinations.

Additional interior roads will also experience diversions in accordance with the specified one-way traffic plan, as outlined in the official release. Commuters are advised to plan their routes accordingly and follow the updated traffic regulations to ensure a smooth and organized flow during this temporary trial period.
