Every day about 90tonnes of waste gets collected at the Koyambedu market in Chennai.
For collection and transportation of waste from the Koyambedu wholesale market complex, CMDA or Chennai metropolitan Development Authority recently passed a fresh tender.
It is worthy to note here that the CMDA invited e-tenders for day-to-day collection and transportation of solid waste inside the market complex. It covers various areas like shopping street, truck bays, service-street as well as internal and external roads. Items from the flowers, fruits, vegetables and food grain markets would be the waste that would be collected everyday here.
The waste from the market would be received at the designated processing facility, transfer section, and landfill areas under GCC. Point is that excluding GST, the approximate value of work stands at Rs 8.53 crores. It is now said that persons who are interested must submit their bids online from 14th February to 20th February.
