The Tambaram Corporation has announced that 27 shops in the Perungalathur commercial complex will soon be auctioned. The municipalities of Tambaram, Pallavaram, Anakaputtur, Pammal, Sembakkam, Perungalathur, Birkankaranai, Madambakkam, Chitlapakkam, and Tiruneermalai were merged to form the Tambaram Corporation in 2021.
Comprising 5 mandals and 70 wards, this area is home to more than 10 lakh people. In response to the growing population`s needs, the Capital Manya Project was initiated. This project aims to enhance essential business services by creating modern infrastructure. As part of this initiative, a commercial complex with modern facilities has been constructed on Kamaraj Road, Perungalathur, at a cost of ₹2 crore.
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated this commercial complex on the 24th through a video presentation. The 27 shops within it will soon be available for public use through auction. This development is expected to benefit over 30 thousand residents of the Perungalathur area, allowing them to purchase essential items locally instead of having to travel to the Tambaram market area.
