First of its kind - A Common online tech platform for project based learning for the students in TN

The superb piece of news is that the TN government would be developing a common online platform for project based learning for the students in Govt Arts and Sciences colleges.  This would be the first of its kind.

It is learnt that this online platform would include a Learning Management System, assessment and grading facilities, dashboards and preinstalled common applications for apps and databases development. Point is that to accomplish the project, ICT Academy of TN or ICTACN has been entrusted with the responsibility. It is known that ICTACT is under the department of IT and Digital Services. There are 163 government Arts and Sciences colleges in Tamil Nadu. These colleges cater to about1.30 lakhs students.

According to a senior officer from Higher Education Dept it was clear that the experts would develop comprehensive learning contents for IT, non IT and business education streams etc for the students of Arts and Sciences colleges. He spoke about how the online tech could be assessed by ICTACT, faculty persons of the colleges, students with restrictions.

Point to be noted is that the system would provide AI or artificial intelligence powered mentoring and guidance modules with a conversational interface to the students. The students would get assistance in project development plus in troubleshooting and testing etc.
