Introducing the Blue Aadhaar Card, also known as the Baal Aadhaar Card, tailored for children under 5 in India. This specialized ID, distinguished by its blue hue, simplifies identification for youngsters.
Unlike the standard Aadhaar card requiring biometric data like fingerprints and iris scans, the Blue Aadhaar Card omits this, acknowledging the challenge of obtaining such data from young children. Instead, a Unique Identification Number (UID) is generated using demographic details and a facial photo linked to a parent or guardian`s UID.
To apply :
1. Visit an Aadhaar Enrolment Center: Locate one nearby, listed on the UIDAI website.
2. Bring necessary documents: Proof of child`s date of birth (e.g., birth certificate), your identity and address proofs (e.g., Aadhaar card), and a recent photo of your child.
3. Fill the Aadhaar Enrolment Form: Download from UIDAI website.
4. Capture child`s photo: An operator will take it.
5. Submit documents: Hand over the form and documents.
6. Get acknowledgment slip: Contains the child`s Enrollment ID (EID) for online tracking.
Reminders :
- Application is free.
- Valid until the child turns 5.
- At 5, update biometric information at any Aadhaar Enrolment Center.
