From today, Wednesday, March 13th, citizens may apply for obtaining their Learner`s License Registration (LLR) for driving vehicles at all E-Service Centers throughout Tamil Nadu.
The Safety Department of the Transport Division of the Tamil Nadu State Government has made this announcement.
The details of the notification released regarding this matter yesterday, Tuesday, March 12th, are as follows:
"Currently, the prevailing system for obtaining the LLR for learning vehicle driving requires citizens to approach Driving License Schools, agents/brokers, and internet web centers. This process incurs unnecessary expenses, consumes time and effort for citizens, lacks transparency, and often necessitates visits to distant city service centers.
Acknowledging the difficulties faced by citizens, the Tamil Nadu State Government has decided to provide this service closer to residences.
Therefore, pursuant to the Order by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and following the guidelines of the Ministry of Transport, the facility to apply for LLR has been introduced at all 55,000+ E-Service Centers across Tamil Nadu from today, Wednesday, March 13th.
Citizens can now avail themselves of this facility by visiting the nearest E-Service Centers in their respective residential localities to apply for an LLR.
Please note that applicants availing this facility at E-Service Centers will be required to pay Rs. 60/-.
Approved LLRs can be downloaded by the applicants.
Subsequently, efforts will be made to introduce other related services required by citizens (Driver`s License, Vehicle Owner`s License, etc.) in E-Service Centers throughout the state of Tamil Nadu."
