The Tamil Nadu Power Generation and Distribution Corporation has announced a significant reduction in charges for relocating electric poles, transformers, and electrical equipment from private lands to public areas nearby. Previously, applicants were required to pay 22% of the total assessment amount as Establishment and Supervision Charges when requesting such relocations. However, following directives from the Chief Minister and the Minister of Finance and Human Resource Management, a new board order has been issued, slashing these charges to just 5%. This move aims to benefit the public by substantially reducing the financial burden associated with such relocation requests.
