Rakuten India Enterprise Pvt. Ltd., a vital technology hub and development center within Rakuten Group Inc., has issued a critical alert to the public concerning a fraudulent scheme operating under the guise of an entity known as "R-ole." The company has uncovered unauthorized activities wherein its brand and leadership identities are being exploited to solicit personal funds under false pretenses.
This scam predominantly proliferates through messaging platforms like Telegram and WhatsApp, targeting over 17,000 subscribers with deceptive invitations for a non-existent office tour scheduled from April 1st to 3rd.
Counterfeit documents, including the "Activity Flow Sheet" detailing supposed tour activities, alongside invitations utilizing Rakuten India`s office address, persist in circulation. Rakuten India urges the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious occurrences related to the "R-ole" scam to relevant law enforcement authorities. The company is unequivocal in its stance, asserting that it never seeks financial contributions or personal banking information for any purpose. By raising awareness of these developments, Rakuten India hopes to shield unsuspecting individuals from falling prey to the scam.
Furthermore, Rakuten India clarifies that no events are scheduled at its Indian office from April 1st to 3rd. This serves as a reminder for everyone to exercise caution and avoid being ensnared by this fraudulent scheme.
Following the discovery of individuals being misled by a purported "R-OLE Business Plan," falsely claiming an affiliation with Rakuten India and other reputable brands, Rakuten India has filed a First Information Report (FIR) with the Cyber Crime Police. A thorough investigation is underway, with swift actions being taken to curb these criminal activities.
