A chronic pain management centre was inaugurated at the Government General Hospital on Friday. The inauguration was made by K C Veeramani – the state health minister. Dr V Kanagasabai, the dean of the hospital stated that this will help the patients in managing their pain which in turn will reduce anxiety levels.
It is to be noted that the Government General hospital treats nearly twelve thousand outpatients and three thousand inpatients daily. Nearly nineteen thousand patients are brought to the hospital by the emergency service – 108.
