Have you ever come across a flyover that is being constructed for 16 long years but still incomplete?
One of the fast developing neighbourhoods near Chennai, Singaperumal Koil is making news now
It is shocking to mention that the infrastructure at Singaperumal Koil is inadequate and this is regarding the massive flyover that is under construction even after 16 long years. It is noteworthy that everyday many commuters get stuck at the manned railway crossing between Guduvanchery and Singaperumal Koil stations.
For hours together, the railway crossing here remains closed and this is creating a huge issue for many. The traffic gets piled up on the national highway due to the closing of the railway crossing.
It must be recalled that in 2007 the then ruling party DMK decided to build a flyover connecting the NH and Sriperumbudur-Oragadam Road in Thirukachur. An amount of Rs 52 crores was also allotted. This plan was put on hold after 2011. Point is that in 2021 TN govt resumed work once again and allotted Rs 138.27 crores. At present, the flyover construction work has slowed down.
It is learnt that the residents want the Highways dept to atleast inaugurate the overpass towards Tambaram as 80% of the work has been over.
