Special Brand Rate Determination Extended for Covid-19 Period

In a significant ruling, the Commissioner Appeals has decided that Special Brand Rate (SBR) determinations beyond the normal period of one year will be covered by the Supreme Court`s limitation extension order, if the delay relates to the Covid-19 period. This allows exporters to reclaim special drawbacks that lapsed during the pandemic.
This victory was secured by the litigation team of N V Balaji and Co., led by J Srinivasan CA and assisted by Harshh MK CA. Their efforts ensure that exporters impacted by Covid-19 can now claim their due benefits, providing much-needed relief.
