Tamil Nadu Colleges to Reopen on June 19 After Extended Summer Vacation for Election Participation!
Tamil Nadu colleges and universities, including private institutions, will remain closed until June 19th - 2024, extending summer vacation for students. A senior official from the Higher Education Department stated that all academic activities were instructed to be completed before the elections on April 19. This allows students to return to their native places to cast their votes.
"No special classes were allowed during the election period to ensure that students, including first-time voters, had enough time to travel and vote," the official added. Post-elections, colleges may decide on conducting special summer camps for students.
The Election Commission, along with the State government, has actively created awareness among students about the importance of voting.
