The Tamil Nadu School Education Department has announced a postponement of the reopening of schools from June 6 to June 10. While senior officials have not provided an official reason for this change, it is widely speculated that the decision was influenced by the escalating summer temperatures.
This decision comes shortly after the neighboring Puducherry Union Territory delayed the reopening of its schools to June 12 due to rising heat levels.
Though the postponement aims to shield students and teachers from the intense heat, it also means that many families will need to adjust their plans and reschedule their return from summer holiday trips to their hometowns.
