According to a circular from the Directorate of Technical Education, the dates to apply for TNEA-2024 have been extended till 11th June. It must be recalled that from 6th May 2024 onwards the online registration process for TNEA-2024 and 6th of June was the last date to apply for admissions at Anna University and its affiliated colleges.
Now, from this 6th June, DOTE has extended the date till 11th June and this was mainly due to high demand from students who have been showing huge interest to apply for the engineering seats across TN.
Information collated is that for the academic year 204-25 2.49lakhs students have applied and 2.90lakhs students have paid the application fee till 6th June 2024.
Accepting the application demands of the students, the application registration has been extended by 2 more days now by the TMEA. The circular from DOTE has pointed out that students who have failed to apply till now are advised to register their applications afresh through the website www.tneaonline.org. The students have been asked to upload their registration fees certificates.
Before 12th June, the students could submit their originals and by 10th July merit list would be announced. The press note from DOTE revealed that on 12th June random numbers would be released for the candidates and from 13th June to 30th June verification of certificates would be carried out. Between 11th and 20th of July, the DOTE would tend to queries and complaints etc.
Eligibility:
It is important to note here that those candidates who apply online at www.tneaonline.org and tndte.gov.in must have compulsorily passed class 12 or equivalent exams from other boards with subjects like maths, chemistry and physics etc. Point is that those candidates between the age 18 and 25 would be allowed to apply for TNEA and the required age relaxation is allowed for certain reserved categories.
